My mom and I recently went on a 24 hour road trip to Austin, TX to attend a luncheon and stayed at a charming boutique hotel, Lone Star Court. Lone Star Court was established in 2013 by Valencia Group and is located in the quiet side of the Domain, near Uptown and Rock Rose. The Domain offers everything from high-end boutiques such as David Yurman, Louis Vuitton, AllSaints, Tiffany & Co. and Austin’s only Neiman Marcus, as well as more traditional retailers like American Eagle, Banana Republic, Express and more. Restaurants include some of my faves like North Italia, True Food Kitchen, Kona Grill, and many more.
This is not my first time at a Valencia Group property, I seek them out whenever I’m traveling! The timeless, retro aesthetic that they offer makes me feel like slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures in life (which is something I think that we could all do a little more often!) while still having all the modern conveniences that we’ve come to expect from upscale hotels. Each of their properties is themed to blend seamlessly with the area where it’s located.
Lone Star’s room décor, complete with Smeg refrigerators, epitomizes Texas Hill Country and Austin perfectly. When you’re within the property, you feel like you are far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, even though it’s just steps away from your door! Their warm hospitality and luxury hotel amenities offer a one-of-a-kind hotel stay. Some of their unique amenities include: resort-style courtyard, fire pits (yes they provide kits for roasting marshmallows), as well as complimentary bicycle rentals + breakfast + Wi-Fi. The Water Trough restaurant and bar has industrial size garage-like doors that open up to the poolside deck, where you can always enjoy lite bites and listen to live music featuring local artists every weekend.
Since the main reason we traveled to Austin was for an event, I thought I would also include a few pictures from that! The brunch was with Crispin Cider at a cutie little outdoor spot in Austin!
Next time that you’re in Austin, I highly recommend that you gift yourself the unique experience that Lone Star Court provides. I can almost guarantee that you’ll leave more refreshed and relaxed that when you arrived – even if you’re in town for “business” like I was!
